Controller

The controller for data processing on EnduranceGlobe is Upscaled Media GmbH, Am Metternicher Bahnhof 10, 56072 Koblenz, Germany, registered as HRB 22822 with Amtsgericht Koblenz, represented by managing director Dirk Schmid. Contact: [email protected], phone 0261 44547. Further details in the legal notice.

Hosting

EnduranceGlobe is delivered via Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), using Cloudflare Pages for the static pages and Cloudflare Pages Functions for server-side features such as the newsletter and contact forms. This produces server log files with technically necessary data such as IP address, page requested, time and browser used. Legal basis is our legitimate interest in a stable, fast and secure delivery of the website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

No cookies, no tracking

EnduranceGlobe runs no audience measurement and sets no tracking or advertising cookies. There is therefore currently no cookie banner. Filters on listing pages and all calculators run entirely in your browser, without any input being transmitted to or stored by us.

Map on event pages

Event pages may embed a Google Maps map. It only loads once you actively click “Load map”; before that, no connection to Google is made. After clicking, data such as your IP address is transmitted to Google LLC (USA). The “Start route”, “Open in Google Maps” and hotel search links open Google Maps or the respective partner site in a new tab without connecting to them beforehand.

Images

Photos on event pages are served from our own servers; they come from Wikimedia Commons under a free licence, with the creator credited directly on the page. Loading a page does not connect to Wikimedia or any other image server.

Newsletter

Signing up for the newsletter via the form on EnduranceGlobe triggers a server function on Cloudflare. It passes the data entered (email address, optional first name, chosen interests and region, language, timestamp, page visited and a shortened hash of your IP address as proof of consent) to GoHighLevel (LeadConnector Inc., USA). We use double opt-in: you first receive a confirmation email and only after clicking it do we send further newsletter emails. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email or by writing to [email protected].

Legal basis for sending is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We base storing the sign-up data as proof of consent on Art. 7(1) GDPR in conjunction with our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Contact form

If you write to us via the organiser contact form, a server function on Cloudflare passes the data entered (name, email address, event name, event website, message) to GoHighLevel. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request serves a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise our legitimate interest in handling enquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Affiliate links

EnduranceGlobe links to partners such as Booking.com, GetYourGuide, car hire and travel insurance providers for hotels, flights, activities and insurance. These links are marked “Ad”. Visiting the event page itself does not transmit anything to these partners; only clicking such a link takes you away from EnduranceGlobe and the respective provider’s privacy policy applies.

Calculators

All calculators on EnduranceGlobe (pace, VDOT, heart rate zones and more) run entirely locally in your browser. Your input is not transmitted to us and not stored.

Transfers to third countries

Cloudflare and GoHighLevel/LeadConnector also process data in the USA. For transfers to the USA we rely, where the respective provider is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, and otherwise on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).

Retention period

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law. Newsletter sign-up data is kept until you withdraw consent, contact form data is deleted once your enquiry is fully handled, and server log files are deleted automatically after a reasonable period.

Your rights

Under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing. Any consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority under Art. 77 GDPR; the competent authority for us is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Rheinland-Pfalz in Mainz.

For any questions about your data, reach us via the contact form or directly by email at [email protected].
